Usually my projects are of the “pro-bono” variety. This particular job came with an agreement from my wife that I can now buy more woodworking toys! Kidding aside, I learned a lot with this project. Thankfully the rustic style and matte finish hides some of the flaws, there are a lot. I’m going to try a more “fine woodworking” style with my next frame project – but definitely won’t do six of them! Thanks for looking.

I struggle with making frames. That is a very nice one.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

PaulDoug—These are my first frames, and I didn’t realize how hard they would be. I used my miter saw, which apparently wasn’t tuned perfect, so I had some trouble with re-cuts. I’m going to make a miter sled for my table saw next time. Also, next time I will be sure to make them precisely to standard frame size so I don’t have to mess with cutting glass or mats to size. Lastly, in the future I will pay closer attention to milling my lumber. I don’t have a jointer, so I used select pine boards I got from home depot, it worked OK this time.
