Today,I finished a walnut bowl which rough turned on May 8 last year! It’s a little bit thicker and heavier than those turned before, cause I wanted to try some things irregular。On the other hand, someday maybe I can do some carving things on that!

Nice turning Peng! It’s larger than it looks in the photos! Good work!

Ah thanks for the scale. Does not look that big but whats in a picture? Walnut is beautiful for turning. Wish i had access to some larger blanks or burl/crotch pieces. I found one in an offcut bin once but it was milled to 8/4. I got a couple small blanks out of it and enough to make some salt shakers. One mans scrap is another mans treasure!

Totally agreed with you!Walnut is a beautiful wood not only for woodturning, but also for furniture,my wife and I both liked it very much!Normally,in my local wood market,I couldn’t find big blank for turning。But near my home, there was a veneer factory,I could get some big size wood blank at a pretty sweet price。They usually burned them as firewood。Anyway, happy turning! Thanks again!
