Thanks very much LJ Ruddy for the instructions for your inset hinges.
I like the way these look and work.
But I did decide to “walk before I could run” and make them just square.
Maybe something more “interesting” next time.

The top-panel of this was a scrap I found in our bin. Filled the
bark-inclusions in with 3+ applications of extra-clear epoxy glue,
because I was too lazy to go get casting resin for the small amount.
The glue looks dark, not clear.

Sides I believe are blue gum, though not the construction-grade, more a
furniture-grade. Not quite precisely the colour of the hairy-oak’s background,
so I put a tiny dark-brown moulding around the edges.

Nicely done! I’ve got to give those hinges a try!

really like the hinges – top is real nice, I like flaws to show most of my customers like character in their product

Thanks for the compliments.
I am SO embarrassed at mis-spelling ‘gum’ as ‘gun’ in the title. Ow.
Hope the word ‘gun’ wasnt why it got some attention.
Oh well. It was late.

Great looking box, love the hinges and the wood grain pattern
