Simple Urn made for a family member who is terminally ill. Made from Jatoba for two reasons: 1) I had some around and she wanted it made from wood I already had; 2) she lived in South America for her teenage years and Jatoba is native to where she lived.

The top is an inverted shaker table top. I think if I had to do it again I’d change that shape a bit—it looks a little squished on top.

Lid is held on with two maple pegs.

Finished with blondish shellac and Renaissance wax.

Sorry to hear about your family member, Charles, but the box is beautiful. Very cool reason for your lumber choice as well!
