The bleachers from the gym were removed this past summer so we reclaimed the wood from them. With a little TLC to remove the finish, gum and other damage, the students enjoy using the lumber.

That’s great the kids get to use the bleachers (from their own school I assume) instead of some contractor trashing them or solely profiting from selling the wood. Judging by the project name I’m guessing it was 16 – 17 year olds making projects from the bleacher wood? I think it’s fantastic you’re able to teach kids these skills, is it a public school (if so that’s even better news)?

No 16-17 is the year I had the students. Thank you for all your kind words. Woodworking is in my heart and I am very pleased with what the students produce. This was an independent project that a student did on the lathe and used the wood from the bleachers.
