Project Information

Made this desk for my home office, the room is a bit of a mess now, but I am working on some bookshelves and then I will clean and organize the room.

I used 8/4 Walnut, just glue for the panel Joinery. Cleaned up the edges on my table saw, and spent allot of time with a power planer and a Jointer Plane to clean up and Flatten the top and sides. Borrowed a Lie Nielson No. 8 for the job, and I really want one.
Used a Router with a round over Bit for the edges.

For finishing I used Arm-R-Seal by General Finishes in Gloss, with a paste Wax on top.

The Legs are Black Iron 1" pipe from Home Depot, de-greased and sanded them, then applied a spray on satin lacquer by Rustoleum.

I've never really liked the pipe and wood look but your project is making me rethink that. This is a nice looking table, well done.

Thanks,

It took me a while to warm up to the look as well, I'm making a few bookshelves for the same room, going to use pipe fittings for the pulls, tie in the whole look

I hope you post those as well as it will be interesting to see them all together.
