This is an entertainment center that was completed in February 2010. It was built for a 73” television. The customer gave me free reign on the project. I built is as a “built in” to be built in the shop and assembled on site. I chose Pine wood with a clear coat to match the wall paneling that was already in the room.
It was built in 4 sections; two bookcases, and header/light bar, and a base cabinet. I was going off customer supplied TV measurements and was nervous about the fit because I wanted only a ¼” clearance on all sides of the TV.
The walls were a little out of square when I originally went to the customers house to measure, so I left a little more gap and a scribe molding on the outside of the cabinet bookcase. The side, top and base moldings were added after installation.
I didn’t go on the installation, but the install crew said the install was quick and easy.
Here is some raw footage of the build:

Free Reign! What a beautiful thing!
Looks great and well tailored. How many fabrication/finish hours are in this guy?

Hours? Not much. The bigger the TV the less cabinet work you have to do. I have less than 2 days in the build and another 10 man hours on the finish and install.
