I made this bookshelf to match an existing store-bought piece in my youngest son’s bedroom:

Matching pieces

The design is my own – the wood is soft maple, finish is a dye stain, followed by shellac and wipe-on poly. My first attempt at dovetailed drawers – they turned out okay.

Except for the drawers, this is actually a duplicate of another piece I built for my older son (linked here), but as some of you may know, the sibling rivalry goes a bit easier if they have everything as much the same as possible :-).
