This is my 1st carving and a gift for my Brother in law ,My sister in law “passed away” about 6 weeks ago and the rose was on her casket, she was 41 and left behind two daughters one being 8 yrs old and the other is 23, she just had a baby this year. We are all Very close and used to get together every other week for dinners Etc.
This was by far the hardest thing my family had to experiance so far .She passed away suddenly from a blood clot to the heart …one day she was here spreading joy to everyone the next day God welcomed her home .
I’m going to mount it on the Blue velvet thats in the pictures and make a free form frame for it , I was going to put it in a shadow box but i suggested it could also go in a picture type frame and my brother liked that idea better, he felt it would be seen better.
I will post more pictures when its finished.

Artists say hands are the hardest thing to do , I believe it now!!!

Loseing a family member or friend is always hard, but if you keep them in your heart and mind they are with you forever. My most sincere condolences to you and your family. This project is as beautiful as the thought and effort behind it. I’m sure your brother and your sister in law both will be pleased with your kind and thoughtful gift. Good luck to you and yours.

Hey Ron – I feel privileged to have been shown this great piece before your posting. You’ve done an excellent job on this, especially for being your first carving. This is a wonderful way to honor the memory of her. Great job my friend.

RJ, I’m sorry for the family’s loss, losing someone close is always hard. I would guess working on a project like this gives you time to reflect on the great memories she left your family. Very nice work especially for your first carving.

A fitting tribute to your sister in law with your first carving RJ. I am sorry for your loss. Sometimes God works in mysterious ways that we may never understand. We never ask questions why but thank him for the many joys your sister in law has brought into your lives and homes. God bless you and your family Rj.
