This is one of my latest designs. Quartersawn white oak with a etched copper face and a bronze moth tile that I made. The moth design came from an old pewter clock I saw once. I made the tile and then made a silcon mold. Then I cast a wax piece from the mold and had a foundry pour the bronze. I tried a method of placing the tile in sawdust that had been moistened with the patina for a couple of days. The surface was colored and lightly etched. It didn’t really come out the way I saw it in my head. The color looks much better in person and I sold it right away so I guess it wasn’t too bad. I really like this design and will probably expand more on it. Approximately 6” x 12” x 12”. Analine dye, lacquer and wax finish. Quartz movement.
