So these are 3 footboard benches I made for charity. One was a rotary club, one was for the Waldorf School and one was for Keller Williams in Decatur. The combinations are Sapele and Wenge, Sapele and White Oak, and one is only Sapele. I liked all combinations. They are finished with Waterlox, which always brings out the ribbon stripe in Sapele very nicely. The Festool domino joiner made easy fast work of the projects! I found the plans in a Woodsmith magazine…I forget which issue. This was great practice making 2 pieces at the same time. All the planing, sanding, assembly, and finishing etc for each happened simultaneously. It probably only took me 10-15% longer total to make 2 at the same time.
