Stereo Cabinet

Someone gave me a stereo system they used a a Lake House for many years. My Dad has not had a stereo in his shop since I was a kid. While any bench top would have been okay to put this on, it is my Dad I can do better! While I did you screws to put it together I covered them all with strips of mahogany I got from Bearpaw. The drawer face is ½ plywood covered with 1/8 pieces of purpleheart, maple, mahogany and some Jamaican wood the name I cannot recall. Looking through scraps I happened to have a pull I dd not use for something and being made out of the same material it got a home finally.

The finish is two light coats of semi gloss poly. Dad does not like his furniture shiny!

Beautiful cabinet, but I would have made it for a more modern entertainment system. Lol

I hear ya, but for our favorite price of free we take what we get. LOL Heck this is a huge improvement over the cobbled together, but functional, system I have in the shop. I would post a pic but they might ban me for it. ROFLMAO

Realy impressive stereo equipment! I like those stripes on drawer front and knob is just fantastic with various types of contrasting woods.

I think it looks great! But the OCD in me is asking why didn’t you “clock” the pull so the light wood stripes in the pull lined up with the light wood in the drawer face? LOL

Great job for a deserving guy. Not sure if the back is open? But with all that power in there it needs to be vented.

Someone mentioned that to me when I was in the planning stage. Actually they suggested vents, I just left it open.
