I carved this 24”t. x 11”d. Kwakiutl (an indigenous people from the Pacific Northwest) welcoming figure from an aspen log. I “selectively” stained him w/ a combination of oil stain and oli paints. At the insistence of my wife and children, I added the leather loin cloth (he is anatomically “correct”, lol). I still need to give him a couple coats of spar urethane to protect him from our Wyoming weather.

Thanks for the nice comments…. I wanted to put him in front of the house, next to the mailbox, but my wife changed my mind. Actually, I’m hoping to sell him.
