Clamp rack, finally!

I finally built a clamp rack to round up all my stray clamps. Basically just a frame, 2×4s on the sides and 1×4s on top and bottom. I just notched the top 1×4 to accommodate Jorgensen bar clamps. I also rabbeted the 2×4s with my circular saw, mostly ‘cause I felt like playing with it. I screwed a bit of square stock across the front to hold my C-clamps, and it has the added advantage of kinda enclosing that bottom shelf for a bit o’ extra storage. Nothing special, but it’s better than my old cardboard box system. :)

Thanks, Eric. And Marius, I DO need more clamps. Now that I have a clamp rack, I’ll have to build a clamp fund. :)

Nice Job! I’m like Marius- out of wall space. Wish I could squeeze this idea in some place.

That’s what I need. Right now I have the longer clamps hanging by the window, the C clamps hanging on a stand and the little spring clamps everywhere!

Nice clamp rack. I see you included some room to grow your collection. You can never have too many clamps. I always have too few or the longest clamps that I have are just an inch shorter than I need. Or as is in the case right now, my Brother-In-Law has borrowed some and they haven’t made it home yet. The last time that happened, I gave my old ones to him (the ones that never were coming home anyway) and bought new ones. HMMM! HONEY! I NEED SOME NEW CLAMPS! I have these spaces on my clamp rack that are empty. Think she will go for it?

Definitely, definitely need more clamps! I can already tell that I’m gonna spend the rest of my life buying clamps, and still always needing more. The problem is finding a balance between spending all my money on clamps, spending all my money on router bits, spending all my money on various squares and measuring/marking tools, and spending all my money on sandpaper. Oh, and handsaws, chisels, spokeshaves, and the occasional big power tool.

Oh my god! I forgot wood! Oh, how I love buying pretty wood….
