This past summer I made this picnic table that would easily sit 8 people without having to climb over the seating benches. It’s made of clean 2×6 lumber non-PT except for the 4 bottom bases that will sit on the ground. It’s pretty heavy and not easy to mover around, but very stable.

Very nice. I bet that thing is a beast to move! I hate climbing over the bench at a picnic table.

Nice work, pretty interesting layout. Very suitable for plying cards (4 persons).

My wife has asked for me to make a table like this. I told her i could pre-cut the pieces this winter then assemble it in the spring. She looked at me with a puzzled look, why not build it all at once? Because it would be a permanent piece in the shop! The only way in and out of the shop is a short man door.

Yellowirenut, that’s exactly what I did. Pre-cut all the parts in my shop, then assembled the table in the garage. It all worked out just fine.

That’s a great idea for a picnic bench—well done!

Also made one of these years ago… Still waiting for the grass to grow under it in my workshop… maybe I should water the concrete

Nice job Woodchips38+1.
