Hi Brian,

I really like the combination of the Cherry with warm white paint. It keeps this large piece light and actually showcases the cherry in a great way. I think that the piece would have been too heavy visually if it were all cherry. What are the painted cases made out of? Poplar, MDF or something else? Did you spray the paint finish? Great job as always.

Yeah they wanted all cherry, I talked them out of it for that exact reason. I told them to trust me that it would feel to heavy and out dated in all wood. The painted parts are maple ply with mitered poplar face frames. It has glass shelves not show in the photos too.

Then finish it sprayed. Cream color is a latex cabinet paint. Then cherry is finished as followed. 50/50 wash water borne shellac, cherry toner, then 2 straight coats of shellac, finished with 2 coats conversion varnish, all target coatings.
