Fold-out bedside table

I needed a bedside table and I like trying these abstract ideas. Making this with interior hinges and having it fold out to exactly level to the ground was tricky. If anybody has worked with this type of bracket, you know its not as easy to position as you would think. It also has a light for when you need to find something/get a drink when you wake up parched in the middle of the night. It stays closed with one of those magnet clicker things from an old entertainment center. Folding the table up is a nice, quick way to tidy up the room.

GENIUS! I was thinking about designing a murphy bed for our workout room (which is also our guest bedroom)—and was thinking about addingin some side-tables—but this might be the perfect-er solution! Hidden when not in use, but readily available when needed.

Thanks!

That is very neat! I did this to my bathroom at the last house! I kept the reading material in it also. Did not think about making an end table in the bedroom! That’s clever!~Suzanne
