Cell Phone Holder

This is a piece I recently finished for my wife. The base is Purple Heart and the two cut outs holding the phone are maple.

I started by cutting the profile on the bandsaw, and then once that was done, I cut it in half lengthwise on the bandsaw again, giving me two separate pieces.

I also added four 3/4” oak dowel rods onto the bottom, which allowed for a charger to be plugged into the phone, by running it through the hole I drilled in the channel where the phone rests.

Very simple project and numerous ways you could go about designing the character profiles to hold the phone.

Too funny! I like the colour match between phone cover and base wood.

Good idea, compliments.
