Frame saw (small)

First off, the pictures seem to uploading in the correct orientation and then somehow aren’t… sorry. So this is the small frame saw kit (metal bits) from Blackburn Tools. Isaac has template for the saws on line. I had this made before the kit showed up. Still need to sharpen the blade. Yes, I left the position marks visible because the saw isn’t glued together but held by the tension of the blade and can disassembled. The template has the ends solid, but I was watching someone else (the English Woodworker?) build one and hollow the ends. I promptly dropped the end after I drilled holes and broke one. It was repaired (not shown above) from the cutoffs (I had rough shaped it thick and trimmed it down to size). The stretchers are cherry and the end is poplar.

A very nice looking saw. I can’t wait to see hear how well it works.

Wow, Dennis I am so happy to see you back. I haven’t been on as much as I used to be, but definitely noticed your absence. I hope all is well.

Dog gone it! You’re showing off. Stop showing off!

Thanks everyone.

So I spent today dimensioning the stretchers for the 4 ft version of this saw.

First time I really used the plane I made from the Veritas kit. Used it as a scrub plane actually. It could take off a LOT of wood quickly.

Also finished sharpening the frame saw blade:

OK your gorgeous saws are getting me properly motivated… As are those black walnut logs leaning on my fence. Hmmm…
