After I redid the lathe bench I decided to get organized. I started with my jaw chucks. I made a shelf for the chucks by traceing around them and cutting it out on a 1×8 then put that on another 1×8 made some gussets and hung it on the wall. Next came my knifes and things. I made it out of a 1×8 drilled holes for the knifes and pegs for my deviders, calipers, center finder, steady rest, face hood and all. There are 2 sets of knifes on the shelf. My old ones with the new handles I turned the other day and my new Sorby’s cool tools. Just for the info if some bodyelse has a lathe like mine tool shop. This took some doing to get a chusk to fit it as it has a 18mm 2.5 shaft. It took some reserch but I found a wood river chuck at woodcraft it takes the nova inserts. So then I got the blank insert (no shaft hole) had a buddy with a metal lathe bore and tap it. My buddy told me it would have been better if I had got the insert with the smalles hole in it he had a hard time getting it centered for sure.

I can’t wait to have enough tools to organize. If I loose my ( 1 ) gouge I am REALLY unorganized!!!!! LOL

Looks great. It’s amazing how much better we work when organized!

Have your say...
