Drill press cabinet

As a Christmas present to myself and to make up for selling my large rigid drill press during my divorce, I bought myself this 12” Wen drill press. I haven’t use it enough to speak on its quality yet, but I’m liking the auto speed selection!!

Luckily I kept my drill press table with dust collection built in, even though I posted it on offer up and a guy wanted to buy it just as I made the decision to get this press!

Anyways, the cabinet is on locking casters and has the three drawers for more storage as my garage is small!

The cabinet is 24” x 27” x 27”. The press is 37” tall so when I made the cabinet 36” tall it was way to tall and I had to redesign it a bit! Thank got for pocket screws!

That looks great! Perfect timing for me as I just bought the exact same drill press and am planning on building a rolling stand for it. Is it a 3/4 plywood box? did you have to double up the top for strength?

Lalen-

It is a 3/4” box. I did and plywood scrap supports for the weight on the sides as well as the middle. Sweet on the timing!

Great. Thanks. I just checked out your DP table as well because I’ll eventually build one of those too.

Super nice. Perfect for smaller drill presses.

You really did a good job on this cabinet and it will be a nice addition to your shop.

By the way, I’m sure it’s obvious, but I failed to mention the depth of the cabinet was determined so I had a spot for my grinder I use seldomly!
