I don’t have a router table but I wanted to put some fluting in a changing table I am making for my daughter. This makeshift router guide is what I came up with and it really pulled off the flutes pretty well for being made out of scrap wood.
I put the piece I wanted flutes on in between two scraps of wood the same thickness. I then screwed all three pieces onto my workbench. Next I took some measurements and screwed a fence/guide into place.
I then cut all the flutes by unscrewing, moving and tightening the fence back down.
Pictures say more than I could ever begin to explain so take a look.
The last picture is one side of the face frame with the fluted piece on the bottom (yes I will cover up the screw holes with trim).
The project is far from done so I will post more pics when I have it finished.
Thanks for looking,
