Hi, I tried to make a plant stand. Made from pine 1X’s. The legs are 1X2’s glued up and carved out on the bandsaw. Top is a piece of popular 11”X12” with cherry veneer added. Stained with dark walnut. Held together with pocket hole screws and glue. I don’t have the Kreg system yet so I do my pocket holes on a homemade jig. Table stands 18 1/2” high. Thanks for looking, c and c’s welcome.

Also, a great job of veneering and finishing too.

Hi Jack, I did not do any carving. What you see is wood appliques I added.

I like the stained leg assembly but not really keen on the cherry.. maybe just the angle of the pics but it looks off.
Just MHO… but the base looks old and top looks like it was added afterwards… some time after…a bit newer looking…

This piece looks almost Jacobean in the massive looking base. I also agree the top seems a little bright for the rest of the piece. However I applaud your ingenuity and efforts. Hurry, do some more.

Thos & Larry – I see what they mean. The top is too slick for the rest – sort of a different theme. However it’s an amazing plant stand.

Put some plant pots on it. It won’t stay shiny for long…
