New Saw Handle

So this was my first saw. I really didn’t like the handle, and after ripping the first leg for my cabinet I was less than enchanted with the blade. I resharpened the blade but still didn’t like the handle. After scouring the web / YouTube, I decided to update the saw with my own handle. Blackburn tools supplied the hardware and the template was from TGIAG.com and is a Disston Warranted Superior Crosscut template. The handle was from what I was pretty sure was walnut. BLO and paste wax finish. I had a moment of significant doubt when I was chipping and hacksawing off the previous handle, but I am very pleased with the results.

The saw looks great. Thanks for sharing all your parts suppliers-I am just entering the slippery slope of handsaws and will hopefully restore one this year.

Todd. this is a beautiful saw handle. Congratulations.

Thanks all! Working on my frame saw (parts from the same supplier). Looking forward to finishing that.
