This project design was first posted in a routing magazine some years ago, using the drill and a large forstner bit. I thought it was a suitable project when I was teaching the blind woodwork. I had to change the method of construction to ensure that it was completed with greater safety awareness. A also added another design feature to the projects.
Different cutters were also introduced and the material was held secure in a special Jig Holder and three templates were produced. The Jig holder has been redisigned recently and instead of three templates it is possible to produce the article with only one template. One of the advantages is that when it is removed from the jig it is completed with only one setting up procedure. I was certainly a great project for the blind as they could produce it in the one session and they had no problems with the router.

Another great Idea Tom . A nice looking Clock and teaching the blind has to be especially rewarding.

I am amazed when I consider that people with such disabilities have achieved this result. It is all made possible by the effective use of a template. Great stuff.
