I built a new box joint jig and this was my first project using that jig. The box is solid Cherry except for the 1/4” MDF bottom that is in a rabbeted groove. It is finished using General Finishes Cinnamon dye then sealed with a 2lb cut of shellac. After a light sanding, I applied several coats of paste wax and buffed with a soft cotton cloth. The inside is lined with a Navy blue flocking. The lid is hinged using a couple 5mm pin type of hinges available from Woodcraft or online.

I am not known for building small projects but I think everyone should do it from time to time as it teaches you to be more precise with your layout and cuts while practicing your skills of being patient!
