This is my attempt at some wood sculpting. Had started this a long time ago but did not have the courage to complete it. Found it on my to-do shelf and thought it was good enough to finish. All that was needed was a lacquer finish which was applied late last night and I gave it a nod this morning to have it posted .
I’ve forgotten the wood type only to say that it had some severe blemishes which I left positioned on the dorsal side of the carving.
Hope you like it.
Regards to all, Roman

So you’re making a splash with a different type of carving!
I have the same problem of having pieces of wood that are “unknown”, so I usually classify those as FOG (Found On Ground). Feel free to adopt the FOG term if it suits you.
Looking forward to your next piece.

That’s a whale of a nice carving. I just heard of the news tonight that a pod of orcas in BC waters lost their matriarch
leader, they thought she was born around 1911.
