This is my Hot Hide Gluepot I realize it looks as if it was designed by Heath-Robinson (the British equivalent of Rube Golberg I believe). When I made it I was looking for an electric thermostatically controlled water heater, but they were very expensive. Then my eye fell on an old iron my wife had discarded, it even had a thermostat. As you can see in Photo. 3 it is now falling apart but it still works and was free.
For all of you who live in the USA I advise you to ignore this article and go to the site below sent to me by Barryvabeach (thanks)

Your set up gives a better feel for the process… a real shop set up.
The hot pot double boiler looks like a kitchen gadget… and I’m not apt to make glue in my wife’s domain….

thanks for sharing…

Ah, Gerard only a Scotsman could come up with a solution like that! Well done. Your glue will be kept hot and there won’t be any wrinkles in the bottom of your pot.

Very Nice! If you truely want to make it a Rube Goldburg contraption, you somehow need to incorporate a bowling ball and a monkey into the design.
