Asian Incense Burner

Just finished my latest project; an african mahogany incense burner. A much more complicated design than my last one, with a strong asian influence. I burned the bamboo leaf pattern into the top and added some gold leafing. It opens up and has two compartments: one for burning incense and the other for storage (lighter, incense). When lit, the incense smoke rises through the decorative cut-outs in the top pattern. I used Darrel Pert’s 7:4 orange to brown dye stain mixture before several coats of wipe-on poly.

I am currently trying to build up some inventory so I can try to sell some of my work later in the year.

great looking burner… do you ever fear it may catch fire?

Great job. Love the design. Nice build. Good luck on the sale later.

Keep it up.

Very nice.
Questions:
With just the holes on the top, is there enough airflow to keep the incense burning?
Which type of incense are you using??
How much do you anticipate selling your creations for?
Great idea about the gold inlay, very artistic
Perhaps another modeled after the Tibetan prayer wheel.
Good luck with the inventory and I seriously doubt you will have a problem selling these babies.
Great design overall, especially incorporating a storage area.
