Had this boot started way back in 2015 and felt that procrastinating any further would not be beneficial to me, so…...!
I picked up this piece of firewood from a friend’s wood box. It was a narrow piece so my pattern and design was limited. I also had some people asking me to do a running shoe which I resisted. When the blank was cut I noticed some interesting figure in the wood and that alone kept me going but reluctantly. It was severely spalted and I kept going but the boot was easily put on a shelf for future consideration. I then proceeded to add some detail, texture and staining. It was a mess and I decided for my first day in 2017 to end it all! My pyrography tool added colour and texture to simulate a rubber like sole. Nike and Adidas – eat your hearts out. There is a new kid on the block!
I need a drink!

Neat looking shoe though.

That reminds me of one of my old work shoes. Great work.
