Project Information

Here is the first project I did last weekend. It was done out of necessity, the house we are renting is an old cottage style built in the late 1890's so we lack modern day walk in closets, and to be honest we only have 3 very small closets in the entire house. My solution to this was to build a clothes rack that is 8' long and stands 48" tall. I used some pine that I had left over from a previous project and some black iron pipe. It is finished with the exception of painting it, which will have to wait till it is warmer. Although it is not extravagant it serves the purpose, and in my opinion those are some times the best projects. Thanks for looking.

That is a great solution for two problems, lack of closet space and the fact that it is hard to walk under those low sloping ceilings.

Thanks very much for sharing this. I have the same need. Think I'll put mine on wheels, however.

Nice project. Wise choice to use piping to hold the clothes. You won't get any bowing out of that. Looks very nice.

This is great, as I have a similar issue with space and the slanted ceilings. Par chance would you be willing to share the dimensions of the pieces you used to construct it?
