This a Murphy Wall bed that was completed on 10-2-2007. It is a twin size, which I don’t do a lot of. It is in a style that I call the Templeton, named after the customer I built the first one for. This one is essentially our basic Murphy bed (Alpine) with some molding added to the face. This project we added some simple trim at the top and bottom.
I used a white lacquer for the finish. I started with a white undercoater, which dries very fast, in about 10 minuets. I then followed with 2 coats of the white lacquer. Lately the white lacquer has been a little thick, I’ve had to thin it down a little. It has also been drying too fast, which required some lacquer retarder to be added, this gave the finish time to lay down and to avoid that dry over spray look.
Here are some more pictures before it was assembled.

Very nice Chris. I’m currently building a crib for my son and plan on painting it white. I’m new to woodworking and have never painted furniture before, so your comments were very beneficial.

Nice work Chris. I have not seen any twin size wall beds before, so it looks somewhat different. Great job on it.
