I found some aromatic cedar scrap on sale at the local hardwood store. I’d never worked with cedar before, but found it was surprisingly forgiving. The shape was cut free-hand on a small bandsaw and sanded to 220. A 2 1/4” forstner bit cut the holes.

After reading some other posts I’ve decided not to finish it with oil or poly since it could turn out poorly. Besides, who doesn’t like the smell of cedar?
