Inspired by RussInMichigan I decided to make my own clamp for cutting boards. This thing has a lot of clamping power, enough to tear the fixture apart if not careful. A drill with a socket makes quick work of tightening the bolts, start with the clutch set to minimum force. I added the cauls to the fixture and they help keep everything flat and true, I will probably add a couple more for more convenient placement on smaller boards.
Shown in the glue up is a chaotic cutting board in progress, (another idea stolen from LJs).

Looks awesome!

What did you use for the bolt recesses?

Seems as it will work excellently.

The term we use is “BORROWED” idea, as we are an honorable bunch of sawdust addicts.

Excellent idea. For some time I have pondered how to make this task easier.
