The first pencil box I’ve done. Lid and bottoms are Bass wood, the sides are Tigerwood, and the name on the lid is from Purpleheart!

Many projects were going this year for Christmas, the first of which is this Pencil box I made for my grand daughter. She is in first grade and has started really taking to writing and drawing so I thought I would make her something to store all her supplies in, an old school pencil box.

I never had one as a kid they were all cardboard back then, but my dad did when he was young and I have seen many fine examples here on the site so I thought I would give it a shot. She has a couple plastic ones at our house, school, and home but those are plastic not something she knows papa took the time to sculpt for her. I hope she will love it for years to come!

That is a nice pencilbox. I made one similar for my grandson for his birthday earlier this year.

I’m sure she will love it for the rest of her life.

Well done.

Wow! This one is over the top. Super work, I like the second and third compartments.
