I decided to condense two blast gates to one because right now they inconvenient to open and close. having them together right next to the shop vac on/off switch, should make thing easier.

Dust collection is nonexistent in my workspace and something that I’ll be working on in the coming several months, so I love the ideas. Thanks for posting.

The video says that you have a shop vac providing the suction for your system. Is it some sort of really powerful one or is that not really needed? The one that I have says it is 3.5pHP (whatever ‘pHP’ means…) and I have a pretty small space. Any idea if that could possibly get the job done?

If you can tolerate the noise, show vacs are
pretty acceptable for one machine. As long
as you keep the duct runs kind of short results
are pretty good with a vac, in my experience.

We have a way too spendy of system and it still only does a so-so job. I even use the “floor-sweeper” function running with other vacs too to get a sort of reasonable job of it.

The blast gate pair is a nice idea nand I may be modifying ours the same way, Thanks of the idea.

Great idea. I to use a shop vacuum system with a mini-cyclone. Will be moving in near future and setting up a new shop so have to give you idea a try. Cheapguy82, “pHP” means peak horse power. The manufactures way of inflating their real HP ratings.
