My first turning of a Banksia Pod. I think it turned out pretty cool!

-- You have to "WORK" with wood ..... it won't do anything it doesn't want to

The outside of that looks crazy. Is that natural, or did you do something to make it look that way?

JayJay, The only thing I did was put about 8 thin coats of Lacquer on it to bring out the character of the pod. The holes are caused by the seed capsules within the pod being cut inside and out. If you have the chance to turn one just make sure your speed is high 1800+rpm and your tools are laser sharp or you will get a fuzzy looking mess! Thanks for the comments to all!
