Had some friends who wanted some gifts to give for Christmas, so I made some segmented vases/bowls for them. One is maple/walnut, curly maple/walnut, and the last brazilian cherry and curly maple. Still need to learn more about doing feature rings, didn’t have time to give that a shot. Also turned my first bowl from cherry using some traditional tools I bought since I’ve been using carbide tools since I started turning, definitely get a better and quicker result using them over carbide. Also took an old small bowl and a carving chisel, messing around with texturing the outside. Decided to try and take better pics of the last two bowls but the display stand wasn’t having it.

Nicely turned.

I do really like the textured one the best; although all are excellent.

those look terrific and will serve as welcome gifts. I’ve always been jealous of people who can plan out and execute a good looking segmented bowl.

Cute kid, too. Merry Christmas
