Bed frame I made for myself last year, made of walnut and red oak. No mechanical fasteners, except in the stretchers, where I used a split tenon with a kreg-jigged screw for knock-down capability. Conglomeration of ideas from here and of my own, the double stretchers being my favorite part. Finished with poly/BLO and sanded to 320, sorry for lack of pictures, this was before I really cataloged my work. First picture is color correct, no idea what happened on the second.

Nic, this is a stunning piece for a lot of reasons. Love the combo of the wood, the curve of the head and foot board and yes, the double rails. Very nice.

Really sharp
It seems to me the walnut & oak combo doesn’t get nearly enough love

I kinda like the walnut/oak combo, and this bed is a great example. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it every day!

Yeah, walnut and oak is a good and overlooked combo, working on a bookcase with the two together for my parents right now. Thanks for all the compliments guys!
