My shop Cleaning and organization continues. These two items were Christmas gifts that I had not yet unpacked.
The DC500 was a cinch to unpack and assemble I think it took me about 15 minutes. It just so happens that WoodCraft is having a sale this weekend on (well everything) dust collection, so I wanted to get this assembled and figure out what pieces I need to hook it up to some of my larger tools.

I saw the review (which I can not find right now, I’ll try to post it to a blog) for the the 8” Jet Planer/Jointer a few months ago and thought for the size and sale price at Woodcraft this would be a good machine. I need to work with it a bit and I promise that I will actually post a review of it. The main project here as you can see is a new stand for it. The stand is made completely out of wood I had in the shop, the only thing I had to buy was the 2 casters and a few bolts to fasten the machine down so about $5 total spent on the stand. The drawer pulls were bought last year some time on clearance. As most of my shop furniture, this is mainly pine and jonts are made with the Kreg jig.

Thanks All. I’ll be posting a blog soon with more construction pictures If anyone wants to see how quickly something like this can go together with the Kreg Jig.
