I have been interested in woodworking for a while and finally got the tools to be able to make something. As a first project to learn the tools and get some practice, I made a couple of simple stands for my iPod Touch. I had some scraps (pine?) leftover from some rough utility shelves that I’d built, so I glued up three pieces to get the thickness I needed. Most of the work was done on the tablesaw with some chisel work to clean up the bottoms of the grooves. There is a slot drilled/chiseled out in the middle of the stands to connect the USB cable and headphones and the groove in the bottom routes the cords.
Thank you to everyone who’s given me such a warm welcome here at LJ!
