Timber: Tasmanian Myrtle (frame), Spotted Gum (panels)
Finish: Ubeaut 1lb shellac, Organoil Danish Oil, Ubeaut Natural Wax
Glue: Titebond II
Design: Original

This design evolved out of a need to put our phone somewhere, limited in size by two slabs I already had, and an experiment into stub tenon and through tenon joinery.

It now sits in my lounge room, with cordless phone, phone charger and wireless modem sit in the top shelf. Cords exit by a hole in the back.

Very nice. I saw the choice of wood and assumed that you must be from Australia. I checked your home page and I was right. You have a few interesting woods in Australia. I always think of lacewood first. I had never heard of tasmanian myrtle before – but it looks beautiful.

Thanks for posting.
