I completed a couple more bandsaw boxes. Both are made out of walnut. These boxes are finished with two coats of de-waxed shellac and three coats of tung oil. I put blue flock in the drawers.
I got the pattern for the larger box from “Scuplted Band Saw Boxes” by Lois Keener Ventura. I made a modification to the design thanks to LJ SawDustnSplinters http://lumberjocks.com/SawDustnSplinters He PM’ed me with directions on how to include a hidden drawer. The hidden drawer is in back of the main drawer. I think its a cool feature and adds a little character to box.
The smaller box is my own design, I made it out of the drawer core from my Chocolate Drip box. I gave it to my son, he wanted it to store guitar picks.
These boxes are so much fun to make I think I would be happy doing nothing but making these… but I have a couple other projects on my honey do list. Hope to get back to these later in the year.
Thanks for looking,
