the rings went so well,i thought i’d try bangles as a quick experiment, these were 1 piece solid oak.
i also have a 3-layerd one gluing up now i’ll turn tomorrow.next will be matching sets. maybe earrings/pendants after that.
these took a bit longer than the rings. Definitely longer than they should have these 3 took an hour as i was futzing around. .bet they could be done in dozen+ batches in Well under 10 minutes per piece,with a few jigs made up.guess you wouldnt even need to lathe them really,but that’s the fun part to me.
cut out with a 2.5” hole saw on DP. i need a few more sizes.i’ll stick to S,M,L,XL.there are actually like 13 standard-sizes! need to round-over the inside with router BEFORE turning next time,LOL. free-handed it and it was sloppy. mineral oil did a decent job of hiding that ;) !
the ring in the pic is purpleheart ,and i’m surprised it hasnt broken as its solid,guess it’s thick enough.
