Went to a woodworking show here in the Kansas City area over the weekend, one of the vendors had a free turn your own pen class. This is the pen I turned, I have always wanted to get a lathe but now I really want one, just need to convince the wife that I need one too ;) I see a another wood hobby taking shape.
The pen is made Burmese Rosewood.

Tell the wife it will pay for its self. It won’t but thats a good place to start. After the first pen you have to turn more.

If you don’t handle addiction well, don’t make pens. There really needs to be a 12 step program for those of us who turn writing instruments..it’s a black hole

Had the same urge. Now it is an addiction but fun and rewarding. I just started out with the full size variable speed lathe from Harbor Freight. On sale with a 25% off coupon. Less than $190.00 to start. Have fun.

X,
Approach her this way…...its an activity you and your wife can do. Many, many female pen turners…...very relaxing and fun.
Besides, what’s more fun than getting naked with your wife and turning a pen? We do it all the time.
(oops, guess you didn’t need to know that)
