This is my first attempt at making a shadowbox. There are alot of things I would do differently based on what I learned while making this but overall Im happy with the end result and the experience of making it. I will get a band saw prior to attempting another custom shaped shadowbox because that lack of tool cost me the most time I think. I free-handed the feather lines with a trim router and they came out ok but I would have loved to have had a CNC machine in order to make it perfect.

Please let me know what you think, especially if you have critiques that will help me get better.

Chris

Richard is correct. The more you do, the more fun it is and the less problems you encounter. Nice job and thanks for sharing.

Looks good. Sounds like you already know what will help you in the future, and most importantly, you learned form the experience. Perhaps a template or guide to help with the feather lines. The time spent making a template is usually less than trying to fix a mistake or make a second piece – speaking from experience.
