I have made a few duck calls since the first one I posted earlier, but I just had to post this one. It would almost be a shame to send this one away. I ordered the blank from woodturnerscatalog.com, and as you can see for yourself, it’s beautiful. The barrel and tapered tube are finished with shellawax. The sounding block and wedge are unfinished gary oak. I pre-made a batch of wedges and sounding blocks to streamline the production process. Now that I have something of a system in place it takes me less than 2 hours to make a call. As I increase my skill I should be able to make the calls look even better without taking any additional time. It almost takes as long to tune the call as to do the woodworking!

Great job on the duck call. It would make any duck come a running.
