I ordered these blanks from Treebones here on LJ’s. They turned great and look great too. I am really enjoying turning pens!

I like it, I will have to start turning, I tried a large lathe a while back was lots of fun.
Fine looking pen.

Those are the natural defects in the burl itself.

I used my own make of walnut oil/beeswax blend.

The Walnut oil must darken it down some more? I use Watco Danish Oil Natural and that darkens a lot by itself. Sometimes I like the satin poly finish because it keeps some of the liter red colors of the Claro Walnut.
