I made this ring box for the special day out of purple heart and birds eye maple. I first cut a piece of 8/4 purple heart into a 3” square. Then I drilled a 1 3/8” hole in the middle, glued 1/4” thick piece of maple on the top and bottom. I then cut out the heart shape on the band saw, rounded over the edges, split the box in half on the BS, sanded and finished with spray lacquer.

Wow! Congratulations on a great box and best wishes for a long happy life together. I used to work in a jewelry store and we would have loved something like this to add on as a special extra for those engagement ring purchases. These could even be personalized with names and dates or initials.. Thanks for posting.

Grats on both! Now the question is, would she have said ‘yes’ without that nice box? ha!
