Well here it is a week later than I planned. I got laid up and couldn’t walk for a bit. Some of you may remember this blog http://lumberjocks.com/jocks/Buckskin/blog/1970 about the recycled honey do…
I finally got it done. It has three coats of oil based gloss poly, hand sanded with 0000 steel wool between coats. Prior to finish I torched it for a distressed rustic look. I thought I had allowed enough around the ‘built in’ molding… I thought wrong. So it is not as perfect as I would like it to be. Now every time I look at he TV I will be reminded about pre-fitting before final assembley.
Anyway, for taking a few measurements, looking around the shop for materials and putting something workable together, its not bad. The Wife loves it and that is the most important part. She is biased though, she gives me a blue ribbon even when I fall.
Enjoy!

Thanks MsDebbie, but it was waiting for me in the shop to come finish it. I just hung it today.

I like that torching idea. Problem is, I’d set the thing on fire….if not the whole house!
